In 1972, Champion Building Materials Group (Champion Group) was founded by Mr. Lin, Tian-Chun in Taiwan, and developed the Champion brand. Celebrating its 35th year anniversary, Champion continues to uphold its original promise and mission: insistence of only manufacturing the highest quality tiles and doing business with honesty and trust. One firm step at a time, Champion builds its solid foundation and excellent reputation in the industry and in the society.
The current Chairman, Lin, Rong-De succeeded the position in year 1990. He dedicates in introducing the concept of environmental friendly green factories and products. Mr. Lin consistently works with Italian suppliers, devoting in Research and Development to solidify Champion’s leading position. The company went public in Taiwan in 1992. Champion Group now has 25% of the market share, and the No.1 brand in Taiwan for 14 consecutive years. Champion products are now sold through its global sales network in 25 countries and regions, including United States, Europe, Japan, Korea, Middle East, and Australia.

In 1997, USD 30 million was invested in establishing Champion’s Headquarter in China, which is known as SinYih Ceramic (China) Co., Ltd. Located in KunShan, Jiansu Province, the company and manufacturing base occupy over 333,000 m². National sales network was established promptly: 14 subsidiaries and over 500 showrooms nationwide. Champion is now the top 3 brand in high-end tile market in China.

In 2002, SinYih Ceramic (PengLai) Co., Ltd., Champion’s 3rd factory, actualized Mr. Lin’s vision of developing a Green Factory. The concept of Green Factory is no pollution involved during the production or anywhere in the factory. USD 50 million was invested in this factory, of which 15% was spent on environmental protection related fields. Champion’s PengLai factory is designed to be environmental friendly in which everything is recycled, reused, and energy saving. The factory has been regarded by the Italian tile machine suppliers, including SACMI and CMF, as the best tile factory in the world.

To ensure the best quality, Champion only uses machineries imported from top Italian suppliers. These includes: SACMI’s Press (up to 7,200 tons), kiln, and dryer, CMF’s powder supply system, and System’s Rotocolor, etc. To be the leader in the industry, Champion advanced itself by introducing Champion-V Technology, a combination of tile and technology. Champion R&D pioneers in combining photo-touch catalytic and tile, nano technology and tile, creating Champion Smart Tile, which includes Auto-Clean Tile, Anti-Virus Tile, and *Anti-Slip Tile. In addition, Champion is one of the first in Asia to successfully apply ‘dry-hang’ (façade) techniques on tiles, which provides stronger pulling resistance, a saver way to install big external wall tiles at a lower cost.*Anti-Slip Tile, patent number in China: ZL 200320123282.1

Similar to Champion’s goal/vision? To be the leading brand in the industry, Champion also strive in being a responsible resident in the global village.
Similar to its devotion in helping to protect the environment, Champion Group believes in giving back to the society. Philanthropy has always been an important driving force for Champion’s growth in the past, and it will continue in the future. “We always give back to the society in which we received our success from,” said the Founder.

Champion’s devotion to commonwealth
Champion devotes greatly in philanthropy. Other than the 3 companies, Lin Mu & Lin Tian-Chun Cultural and Educational Foundation is also under the Champion Group. The Group donates a significant amount each year to build schools (School of Hope) and provide funds to people in need. Contribution to education especially, as the philosophy of the founder, “Education is the most precious thing you can ever give to the children.”
Hoping to make further contribution and to get more people involved in philanthropy, Champion decided to donate USD 0.1 for each box of tile sold. A successful feedback is shown and accumulating quickly as Champion continues to gain market share.
